About the museum

The Vergulders Circle

Vergulders pagina 1

For anyone who holds the museum particularly dear to their heart, we have established the Vergulders Circle: a giving circle of committed donors who together contribute to the future of the Rijksmuseum Meermanno.

Although the museum receives financial support from the government, via the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW), additional support is needed to realise new plans. With the contribution from the Vergulders Kring, we can develop innovative exhibitions, enable artists to conduct research into the collection, set up new educational programmes and organise free activities that bring together book lovers of different generations. The Vergulders Kring is at the heart of this renewal. As a founding member, you are not only a donor but, as a pioneer, you are actively helping to lay the foundations for the future of our museum.

As part of the Vergulders Kring, you support the museum with an annual donation of €2,000 or more, for a period of five years. This is pure patronage, set out in a tax-efficient agreement. In addition, as a Vergulder, you automatically become a ‘Friend for Life’ of the Friends of the Rijksmuseum Meermanno.

What makes the Vergulders Kring special is the personal involvement and direct contact. As a token of our gratitude, we invite our Vergulders to an annual dinner with the director. During this evening, we’ll take plenty of time to dine together, give you a personal insight into our plans, and exchange ideas in an informal setting about the museum’s developments and ambitions.

The group is still young and evolving rapidly. Together, we’re building a community of people who not only enjoy the museum, but also want to actively contribute to its future.
